Practicing Community Sharing through Social Contribution
Changwon Samjin Youth Aviation Pest Control Team donated 100 bags (1000 kg) of rice to Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, asking for it to be delivered to neighbors in need at the end of the year.
The rice donated on the 6th was purchased with part of the drone pest control profits from rice diseases and pests by the Samjin Youth Aviation Pest Control Team members, who are local young farmers, using newly harvested rice grown in Changwon City. The donated rice will be delivered to two places, including free meal centers for the disabled in Changwon City.
Jung-hwan Jo, head of the Samjin Youth Aviation Pest Control Team, said, “Although everyone is going through difficult times, local farmers have carefully produced this rice with the hope of overcoming hardships together. We hope this rice of love will be a warm gift to our neighbors struggling through the cold winter.”
Jang Geum-yong, the first deputy mayor, said, “We sincerely thank the Samjin Youth Aviation Pest Control Team for their warm concern for neighbors in need. We will deliver this precious gift with heartfelt care.”
Meanwhile, the Samjin Youth Aviation Pest Control Team consists of 14 young farmers and plays a role in performing farming tasks on behalf of aging and struggling farmers, such as joint pest control of rice diseases and pests using drones.
