[On Site] "Joo Ho-young! Chu Kyung-ho!"... Park Chan-dae Calls Out 107 People from the People Power Party Who Abstained from Voting on Yoon's Impeachment Bill

"Joo Ho-young, Chu Kyung-ho, Jung Sung-guk, Cho Bae-sook, Jung Jeom-sik, Jung Hee-yong, Cho Kyung-tae!..."

On the 7th, Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, called out the names of 107 out of 108 People Power Party members who were absent from the vote during the proposal explanation of the 'Impeachment Motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol' at the National Assembly. Park appealed to the ruling party members one by one by name, urging them to "return to the plenary session hall even now."

At 5:44 p.m. that day, during the proposal explanation of the impeachment motion against President Yoon at the plenary session of the National Assembly, Park said to President Yoon, "The declaration of martial law is an act of rebellion in which the president mobilized the military to maintain power, usurped the sovereignty of the people, and seized administrative, legislative, and judicial powers," adding, "Yoon Seok-yeol, who planned and led the rebellion, is the ringleader and mastermind of the rebellion."

He continued, "The president, who should uphold and protect the constitution, has committed a violent act by destroying the constitution and the constitutional order himself," and argued, "There was no war, no armed conflict, nor any comparable national emergency. The president also violated Article 77, Paragraph 4 of the Constitution, which requires the president to promptly notify the National Assembly upon declaring martial law."

After the People Power Party members left the plenary session following the vote on the special prosecution law for Kim Geon-hee, the impeachment motion against the president is likely to be rejected. The approval requirement for the impeachment motion is 'two-thirds or more of the total members,' which means 200 votes are needed, but the opposition parties hold a total of 192 seats, falling short of the required number.

In response, Floor Leader Park appealed by calling out the names of People Power Party members one by one, urging them to attend the plenary session until the very end. Every time Park called out the names of People Power Party members, the remaining opposition members stood up and shouted together. Park also called out Ahn Cheol-soo, a People Power Party member who stayed until the end of the plenary session, saying, "Thank you."
