Kim Yong-min: "Han Dong-hoon Will Be the First to Face Retaliation from President Yoon if Impeachment Fails"

On the 7th at 5 p.m., ahead of the vote on the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol at the National Assembly plenary session, Kim Yong-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, and the pro-Han faction (pro-Han Dong-hoon) lawmakers to approve the impeachment.

On the same day, Kim posted on Facebook, "The 18 members who voted to lift martial law and Leader Han Dong-hoon will be the first to be retaliated against by President Yoon if the impeachment is rejected today," warning, "I hope they clearly face reality."

Earlier, on the evening of the 3rd, when President Yoon declared martial law, 18 lawmakers, mainly from the pro-Han faction, participated in the vote demanding the lifting of martial law and voted in favor.

The day before, Leader Han indirectly expressed the need for impeachment, saying, "To protect the people, President Yoon's prompt suspension from duty is necessary," but after President Yoon's public address that morning, he reverted to an ambiguous stance.

It is reported that the People Power Party decided at a party meeting around 4:40 p.m. on the same day, ahead of the plenary vote, to oppose the impeachment motion against President Yoon and the special prosecution law for Mrs. Kim Geon-hee as the party line.

The Democratic Party plans to reconvene a special session on the 11th to re-push the impeachment if the motion against President Yoon is rejected at the plenary session that day.

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, warned, "If the impeachment is blocked by stalling and the party line leads to rejection, Leader Han will have to bear historical responsibility."
