Gyeongsangnam-do announced that it will create and distribute the nation’s first "Standard Manual for Major Accident Prevention Procedures in Public Transportation" for passenger ships, buses, and other public transportation means.
This is to help public transportation businesses such as intercity bus companies and passenger ship operators properly conduct hazardous and risk factor inspections in accordance with the expanded enforcement of the Serious Accident Punishment Act this year.

In March, Gyeongsangnam-do conducted major accident prevention consulting services to establish a safety and health management system at six public transportation workplaces nationwide for the first time, including two passenger ship companies and four intercity bus companies, and based on this, created the standard manual.
Kang Soon-ik, Head of the Major Accident Prevention Division, said, “We expect that workplaces will voluntarily establish and implement safety and health management systems through the standard manual we created,” adding, “We will continue to support private businesses vulnerable to major accident responses and promote the manual to ensure the safety of residents.”
