Yangju-si Announces Additional Business Types Eligible for Occupancy in Knowledge Industry Centers Outside Industrial Complexes

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 6th that it has officially notified the ‘Additional Business Types Eligible for Occupancy in Knowledge Industry Centers Outside Industrial Complexes.’

The existing eligibility for occupancy in knowledge industry centers within the jurisdiction included ▲manufacturing ▲knowledge-based industries ▲information and communication industries ▲venture companies, or facilities recognized for the clustering of specific industries and regional economic development within knowledge industry centers inside and outside industrial complexes.


The newly added business types in this notification include a total of 37 categories: ▲21 types such as video and audio recording production and distribution, broadcasting, etc., ▲comprehensive construction businesses for promoting construction projects like the Yangju Station area development, ▲4 types including specialized construction businesses by profession, ▲10 types such as financial services and professional services supporting the management operations of resident companies, and ▲smart farms and vertical farms reflecting the changing industrial structure, as well as OEM manufacturing.


Additionally, many R&D business types related to the ‘Gyeonggi Yangju Technovalley,’ which is under development with a target completion in 2026, are confirmed to be included among the additional eligible business types.


Yangju City expects that the increase in occupancy rates of ‘knowledge industry centers outside industrial complexes’ will positively impact the revitalization of the local economy and the development of various industries in the future.


Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju City stated, “This notification has made it possible for companies that were previously restricted from occupying knowledge industry centers to move in. We will gradually expand the range to allow a wide and diverse range of industries to settle in.”
