Preparation for Full Implementation of High School Credit System Next Year
Job Training Held on the 7th for About 120 Lead Teachers
Aimed at Strengthening Teacher Competencies Including Career and Academic Planning and Program Development Support

The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Lim Tae-hee) is actively strengthening the career and academic planning support capabilities of leading high school teachers in the province in preparation for the full implementation of the high school credit system in the 2025 academic year.

On the 6th, the Office of Education announced that it will hold the ‘2024 Career and Academic Planning Guidance Leading Teacher Training’ at Seoul National University Siheung Campus on the 7th, targeting about 120 leading teachers recommended by 25 education support offices.


This training was prepared to enhance teachers' capabilities in guiding students' career and academic planning in preparation for the full implementation of the high school credit system in the 2025 academic year and to lay the foundation for nurturing talents needed in future society.


The main contents include ▲ the necessity of the high school credit system and career and academic planning ▲ subject design according to the 2022 revised curriculum ▲ development of career and academic planning programs.


After completing the leading teacher training, participants will serve as members of the Career and Academic Planning Support Group in the 2025 academic year. They will play various roles to enhance teacher capabilities, such as supporting course completion and school activities according to the career and academic plans of high school teachers in the province.


Kim Yoon-gi, Director of the Curriculum Policy Division at the Office of Education, said, “The role of leading teachers who support career and academic planning at schools is more important than ever in preparation for the full implementation of the high school credit system.” He added, “In the first half of next year, we will operate training to strengthen career and academic planning guidance capabilities for low-experience homeroom teachers and continue to support school sites.”
