Cheon Dae-yeop, Chief of the Court Administration Office (Supreme Court Justice), stated that the National Assembly's decision to lift President Yoon Seok-yeol's 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law' through a vote provided significant implications for the judiciary as well.
On the 6th, during the plenary session of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, when Park Jun-tae of the People Power Party asked for his opinion, saying, "I understand that the National Assembly lifted the martial law following due legal procedures," Cheon responded, "In that sense, we express our respect to the National Assembly."
Cheon added, "Despite some urgent requests from the Speaker of the National Assembly to expedite the resolution to lift the martial law, the process of fully adhering to the proper procedures and ultimately leading to the final resolution to lift it gave us significant implications as well."
