The ‘High-Risk Pregnant Women Medical Expense Support Program’ is a project aimed at alleviating the economic burden on pregnant women and supporting healthy childbirth, in response to the increased frequency of high-risk pregnancies due to factors such as the rise in multiple pregnancies from assisted reproductive procedures.

With the removal of the income criteria starting this year, it is expected that more pregnant women will receive benefits.

The support targets pregnant women diagnosed with and hospitalized for 19 types of high-risk pregnancy diseases, including ▲multiple pregnancies ▲preterm labor ▲delivery hemorrhage ▲severe preeclampsia, and applications must be submitted within six months from the date of delivery.

The support covers up to 3 million KRW, reimbursing 90% of the inpatient treatment costs, including both covered (full out-of-pocket expenses) and non-covered medical fees.

Applicants can apply in person at the public health center with jurisdiction over their registered residential address or apply online through the e-Health Center. When applying, they must submit a diagnosis certificate, medical expense receipts, and detailed statements of medical expenses.

A Hanam City official stated, "With the removal of the income criteria, we expect that more high-risk pregnant women will benefit. We will do our best to continuously promote this program and expand support to improve the health of pregnant women and newborns."

For detailed information on the application process and required documents, please contact the Maternal and Child Health Team at the Hanam City Public Health Center.
