Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) announced on the 6th that it held a handover ceremony on the 5th to receive neighbor-helping goods worth 30 million KRW from the Youngsan Cho Yong-gi Charitable Foundation. Since 2016, the Youngsan Cho Yong-gi Charitable Foundation has continued various support activities for the local community, starting with donations of briquettes and heating oil. This year as well, they donated practical items such as briquettes, heating oil, 900 bags of white rice, electric toothbrushes, and COVID-19 kits, practicing warm sharing with neighbors in need.

Yoon Hong-ryeol, Chairman of the Board who attended the handover ceremony, said, “Amid ongoing cold waves and economic difficulties, I hope this donation will help marginalized neighbors have at least a warm year-end.”

Seo Tae-won, Governor of Gapyeong-gun, responded, “We will ensure that these precious goods are delivered well so that the underprivileged in Gapyeong-gun can spend a warm winter,” and added, “We are grateful to the Youngsan Cho Yong-gi Charitable Foundation for never forgetting to share their warmth with Gapyeong-gun every year.”

Gapyeong-gun plans to use the donated goods for welfare projects for social welfare facilities and low-income vulnerable groups within the jurisdiction through the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest.
