Sejong University Research Team Develops 'Smart Shooting Training'... Distributed to 125 Police Stations

Sejong University announced on the 7th that the smart shooting training system, jointly developed by Professor Kang’s research team and GunPower, is scheduled to be supplied to police substations and stations nationwide over the next five years.

The system was developed with research and development (R&D) support from the Ministry of Science and ICT. It features a realistic training environment using actual projectiles, with the advantage of enabling simultaneous training for firearms and tasers. Unlike existing equipment such as lasers and infrared, it uses real projectiles to provide an environment similar to actual training.

Currently, the smart shooting training system is used for marksmanship and bilateral engagement training by police special forces and military special units. It has also been distributed as equipment for regular units and reserve forces training. Additionally, it is used in the United States and Europe for military and police training purposes, achieving export results worth millions of dollars.

A Sejong University official stated, "Since safe training is possible anytime and anywhere, it is expected to greatly assist frontline police officers in firearms and taser training."
