Jinan-gun Distributes 'Health Dream Packages' to Vulnerable Children

Provision of Items Such as Grilled Eggs, Gim, and Apples

Jinan-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 6th that it distributed 'Health Dream Packages' to vulnerable children in the area in connection with the county school meal support center.

This project was promoted to help prevent picky eating and support growth by providing food packages that allow 75 vulnerable households with children in the area to consume the five major nutrients evenly.

To promote the project, Dream Start and the School Meal Support Center held prior meetings to discuss the package items, distribution timing, and methods, and agreed that the Jinan-gun School Meal Support Center would handle everything from package production to delivery.

The packages contained the five major nutrient groups (protein, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates, fats) evenly, including 'boiled eggs, gim (seaweed), apples, mixed grains (8 kinds), and yogurt,' and were composed of locally produced food grown in the clean highlands, available at the Jinan Local Food Direct Store.

An official from the county said, "Through the distribution of the five major nutrient packages, we plan to improve the nutritional status of vulnerable children and support healthy growth," adding, "By composing the packages with Jinan-produced food, we also expect to contribute to the activation of local food and the regional economy."
