On the 4th, Dangjin City in South Chungcheong Province was selected as an outstanding institution in the "2024 Comprehensive Evaluation for Local Tax Delinquency Collection," hosted by the province.
This evaluation comprehensively assessed the overall performance in local tax delinquency collection, including collection of overdue taxes, enforcement actions, tax administration cooperation, and submission of best practices, targeting 15 cities and counties within the province.
The city set a goal to clear 7 billion KRW out of 17.5 billion KRW in carried-over local tax delinquencies, and actively implemented measures such as operating a "High-Amount Delinquent Taxpayer Responsibility Collection System," public auction of seized properties from habitual delinquents, seizure of license plates from delinquent vehicles, public disclosure of high-amount delinquent taxpayers, and home searches.
As a result, the city achieved outstanding results in various areas, including first place in public auction performance of seized real estate, first place in the rate of vehicle license plate seizures, and second place in public auction performance of seized vehicles.
A city official stated, "We will continue to do our best to foster a sound tax payment culture and secure independent financial resources by managing delinquent taxes and discovering new policies to improve taxpayer convenience."
