Held from 6th to 8th at Hongdae Walking Street
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it will hold the opening event of the ‘December Donghaeng Festival’ from the 6th to the 8th and operate various promotional and sales booths for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business products.
This opening event marks the start of the ‘December Donghaeng Festival,’ which runs from the 1st to the 28th of this month. It was organized to spread a warm culture of consumption that expresses gratitude to those around us by purchasing products from SMEs and small businesses at the end of the year.
This Donghaeng Festival will be held at ‘Hongdae Red Road,’ a street known for youth and global culture, to promote SME and small business products to the younger generation.
In the Hongdae Red Road R1 zone, a ‘Lycon & Donghaeng Products’ sales booth will be operated, where entrepreneurial small business owners in the lifestyle sector and differentiated Donghaeng products can be experienced. Additionally, a ‘Youth Merchants Booth’ will showcase the challenges and passion of young merchants from traditional markets and shopping districts nationwide, and a warm ‘Food Market’ featuring local specialty companies representing each region will also be operated.
In the R2 zone, a popularity vote for the displayed Donghaeng Festival participating products (100 companies) will be held along with tasting and experience events for each product. There will also be an exhibition hall for promising K-beauty export products with high potential to lead SME exports.
Furthermore, in the live commerce booth, special discount sales broadcasts with famous influencers will continue for three days through the live-only channel ‘Grip,’ providing consumers with real-time opportunities to access excellent small business products.
On the first day of the opening, the event will be filled with attractions and entertainment, including a Donghaeng mini-concert by singer Hong Isak, busking performances by popular bands, a non-alcoholic vin chaud tasting event, and consumption promotion events in nearby shopping districts, continuing until the 8th.
Minister Oh Young-joo plans to visit the opening venue, tour the booths, and encourage participating SMEs and small business owners.
