Samsung Offers One UI 7 Beta Operation Only to Applicants
Analyzes and Enhances User Feedback to Improve Completeness
Strengthens New Security Features to Defend Against Cyber Threats
A feature that converts call recordings into text without installing a separate application will be introduced within the Galaxy S24 device.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 6th that it will operate a beta program for 'One UI 7,' which applies the next-generation 'Galaxy Artificial Intelligence (AI)' and enhanced security solutions.
The One UI 7 beta program will be conducted sequentially for Galaxy S24 series users in Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, and India. Users who wish to participate can apply through the Samsung Members app on their smartphones.
Beta program participants can experience advanced Galaxy AI features and personal data protection functions in advance and provide feedback. Samsung Electronics plans to analyze and supplement user feedback obtained through the beta program to improve the completeness of the official version.
First, generative AI-based text editing functions such as text summarization, spelling, and grammar checks, which were previously supported separately by each app, have been integrated to be supported at the framework level. This expands the usage scope of generative AI-based text editing functions across the entire device, allowing users to easily utilize these functions on the screen they are using.
A new 'text conversion' feature that transcribes call content into text has also been added. When users enable this feature, call recordings are automatically transcribed into text without any cumbersome process.
One UI 7 has expanded personalization options for the home screen, lock screen, and widgets. Users can decorate their screens according to their preferences by utilizing the diverse widget designs and freely arrange the positions of apps on the home screen.
A new notification system called 'Now Bar,' which shows users' real-time activities such as music listening, translation, and health at a glance, has been added to the lock screen. The camera shooting mode settings window has been changed to a popup form, allowing users to quickly and easily switch to desired shooting modes such as panorama, night, and slow motion.

New security features supporting a smart and safe mobile experience in the hyper-connected era have also been installed.
The 'My Device Security Status' feature allows users to check the security status of connected devices such as mobile phones, TVs, and home appliances within the Galaxy ecosystem at a glance through the integrated security solution 'Knox Matrix,' which protects interconnected devices comprehensively. 'Maximum Restriction' is a function that more strongly defends against cyber threats by blocking automatic Wi-Fi reconnection and automatic attachment downloads.
The 'Safe Installation' feature warns users of security risks when an app from an unapproved source is being installed. The 'Block USB Connection When Locked' feature blocks all access except battery charging when the USB port is connected while the device is locked.
The 'Stolen Device Protection' feature applies enhanced new functions such as requesting additional biometric authentication or locking setting changes for a certain period if there is an attempt to change security settings in unusual locations or situations.
The official version of One UI 7 will be pre-installed on the Galaxy S series launching in the first quarter of 2025 and will be sequentially applied to previously released Galaxy devices thereafter.
