Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 6th that it has completed the construction of a multipurpose gymnasium in Gwansan Neighborhood Park, which has been promoted since 2022 to meet residents' demands for improved sports facilities in Gwansan-dong, and held a completion ceremony on the 4th.

The Gwansan Multipurpose Gymnasium is a sports facility located at 115-19 Gwansan-dong within Gwansan Neighborhood Park. It was built with a budget of 4.45 billion KRW and is a one-story building with a total floor area of 986.62㎡, approximately 300 pyeong, serving as a multipurpose sports facility.

The Gwansan Multipurpose Gymnasium is equipped with spaces for sports activities such as badminton, basketball, table tennis, and GX, as well as 138 spectator seats, enabling the hosting of various events.

There is also ample parking space for 28 vehicles for visitors and a cafeteria offering a panoramic view of Bukhansan Mountain.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City attended the completion ceremony and said, “I am very pleased to think of the residents who can exercise freely now that the Gwansan Multipurpose Gymnasium has been established in Gwansan-dong, where sports facilities were lacking.” He added, “We will continue to strive to provide citizens with comfortable and easily accessible community sports facilities.”
