Active Promotion of Rapid Integrated Planning Projects in Areas such as Myeonmok 7 District, Sangbong 13 District, Myeonmok-dong 172-1, and Junghwa-dong 309-39... Accelerating Residential Environment Improvement
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the ‘Resident Participation Day’ event of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Rapid Integrated Planning Exhibition on the 4th, sharing the achievements of the rapid integrated planning projects in the area with residents.
Rapid Integrated Planning is a support policy by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to revitalize redevelopment and reconstruction maintenance projects. The exhibition is being held at the Seoul Urban Architecture Exhibition Hall Bium Hall from the 22nd of last month until December 20th, with programs operated by each autonomous district to communicate with residents.
At the event, residents and stakeholders from redevelopment project areas in the region attended to view various concept exhibitions such as ▲Open City ▲Eye-level City ▲Stories of Rapid Integrated Planning ▲Balance of Values ▲Urban Magnifier, and had time to resolve questions related to maintenance projects.
A participating resident said, “Through the exhibition, I was able to understand the redevelopment direction of our area more easily and feel the value that rapid integrated planning will bring to urban development,” adding, “I hope there will be more opportunities for residents to actively participate in the future.”
Jungnang-gu’s rapid integrated planning projects are currently actively underway in four locations. Myeonmok 7 District (around 69-14 Myeonmok-dong) completed the approval for the establishment of the association in September 2024 and is rapidly advancing the project, while Sangbong 13 District (around 461 Mangwoo-dong) is preparing for designation as a maintenance district in the first half of next year, ahead of the Seoul Metropolitan Government Urban Planning Committee review.
Additionally, the area around 172-1 Myeonmok-dong is in the stage of establishing rapid integrated planning after being selected as a redevelopment candidate site in August 2023, and the area around 309-39 Junghwa-dong will officially begin the maintenance plan establishment process starting with the maintenance plan establishment service in January 2024.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “Our district’s rapid integrated planning redevelopment projects are progressing quickly due to the strong willingness of residents to participate, and significant changes are expected in regional development and residential environment improvement,” adding, “We will spare no support to ensure the smooth progress of the projects.”
Jungnang-gu has the largest number of development sites and area among Seoul’s autonomous districts, with a total of 27 sites selected as housing development project candidates by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
The main candidate sites include ▲7 redevelopment and reconstruction locations ▲6 urban public housing complex projects ▲14 Moa Town projects, and in the future, the aging residential areas will be reborn as pleasant and modern residential complexes.
