The kimchi sharing event is part of regional coexistence and social contribution, and has been ongoing for 16 years since the department store opened in 2009.
The delivery ceremony was attended by about 10 people, including Kim Seongsu, the head of the district office, officials from Haeundae-gu Office, and Shinsegae employees, adding significance to the occasion.
The kimchi, which will be delivered to 250 households including the underprivileged and elderly living alone in Haeundae-gu, was made more meaningful by purchasing all the kimchi-making ingredients from Bansong Big Market, known as the 'Kimchi Specialized Market,' and having the Bansong Big Market Merchants' Women's Association and supporting residents prepare the kimchi themselves.
Moon Jinyang, Senior Manager of the External Cooperation Team at Shinsegae Centum City, said, "It is meaningful to coexist with traditional markets through sharing kimchi this year as well and to help the underprivileged get through the winter. We will continue to actively communicate with the local community and expand our social contribution activities."
