After returning from Germany to Incheon International Airport in the afternoon, former Governor Kim told reporters, "Who can guarantee that they will not attempt martial law again?" and stated, "Now is the time for impeachment and the time for the people."

Former Governor Kim said, "If President Yoon has even a little heart for the country, stepping down voluntarily now is the minimum duty to the people," adding, "I hope he does not test the patience of the people any further." He also explained, "The aftermath of the reckless attempt at martial law on our economy is extremely serious," and "Political uncertainty must be removed as soon as possible."

He continued, "Who can say that none of us in the political sphere, including myself, bear joint responsibility for our current reality?" and expressed, "As a politician, I sincerely apologize and feel deeply sorry for the situation that has once again forced the people to come out onto the cold asphalt in this harsh winter."

Regarding the People Power Party, which decided as a party stance to reject the impeachment motion, former Governor Kim said, "Although the People Power Party opposes it now, once they see the extent of the people's anger with their own eyes, there will be change," and added, "Right now, finding a way for this regime to be replaced early is of utmost importance, and the People Power Party will surely join that path."

Former Governor Kim explained that he returned to support the regime's resignation efforts. Originally, he planned to finish his studies in Germany this month and then move to the United States, returning around February next year. He said, "I believe it is my duty to complete the research I have been interested in and serve the people upon my return," but added, "After going through this martial law incident, now is the time to support the people fighting on the streets."

Meanwhile, former Governor Kim is scheduled to meet Woo Won-shik, Speaker of the National Assembly, and Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. He said, "It is natural to meet the leader of our party," and added, "During the process of managing the martial law incident, Speaker Woo, Leader Lee, and other party leaders played important roles. Overseas Korean residents are very grateful and highly appreciate this."
