Certificate Awarded to 180 Volunteers for Cumulative Service Hours
Four Volunteers with Over 9,000 Cumulative Service Hours
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 5th that the Uijeongbu Volunteer Center (Chairman Lee Yong-geol) held the ‘22nd Uijeongbu Volunteer Day Ceremony’ at the city hall auditorium, attended by about 250 citizens and volunteers.

This event was organized under the theme ‘A Day of Volunteers, Hope of Uijeongbu City’ to express gratitude and encouragement to volunteers who dedicated themselves to the local community throughout the year, in celebration of Volunteer Day (December 5 every year).
The ceremony included ▲a premium concert ‘December Gift’ performed by a talent performance team ▲screening of the moving and resonant video ‘Volunteer Ignite IN Uijeongbu’ ▲awards and certificates of appreciation for volunteer service.
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “Among our 460,000 Uijeongbu citizens, about 130,000 are registered volunteers. I am truly grateful that Uijeongbu shone even brighter in 2024 because of your participation,” and added, “I expect that the number of people participating in volunteering will continue to increase, and volunteer activities in Uijeongbu City will be further revitalized next year.”
Meanwhile, at the event, cumulative service hour certificates were awarded to a total of 180 volunteers. Among them, 68 received certificates for over 500 hours, 44 for over 1,000 hours, 26 for over 2,000 hours, 11 for over 3,000 hours, 10 for over 4,000 hours, 6 for over 5,000 hours, 5 each for over 6,000 and 7,000 hours, 1 for over 8,000 hours, and 4 for over 9,000 hours.
