Writer Yoo Si-min fiercely criticized President Yoon Suk-yeol's declaration of martial law, saying, "No one would take such action unless they have cognitive impairment."

On the 4th, Yoo appeared on a specially scheduled MBC program, '100-Minute Debate,' to share his views on the martial law declaration incident. First, he explained, "The impeachment of a sitting president cannot be achieved by the opposition party alone," adding, "As in the case of former President Park Geun-hye's impeachment, impeachment is only possible when there is division within the ruling party. When a certain number or proportion within the ruling party decides that 'for the sake of the country, this president must be removed,' then impeachment happens."

He continued, "If there are eight or more lawmakers who judge that President Yoon must be removed even at the cost of personal disadvantage, then President Yoon will be impeached; otherwise, he will just continue," expressing concern that "even three days is too long for this president." He added, "If the impeachment motion is rejected, President Yoon will operate the administration by declaring martial law and then withdrawing it again," and said, "Considering various options, unless President Yoon has serious cognitive impairment, he cannot take such actions. This applies not only to martial law but also to economic and medical policies."

Furthermore, he criticized, "I don't even know if the goals are reasonable, and inefficient means are being used to achieve the set goals. When things don't go his way, he gets enraged, and if that doesn't relieve his anger, he declares martial law. It's frightening that such a person is now president," adding, "I believe South Korea is sinking." He also said, "If a person is sinking, they are already knee-deep. They will sink deeper and deeper, and if they don't go under their nose during the remaining two and a half years of the term, it will be fortunate," emphasizing, "If you don't like the president, you can just stop watching the news. But now, with the number of corporate bankruptcies, self-employed business closures, and delinquency rates on household and small business loans, the national economy is at risk. Yet, the Yoon administration is talking about how the economy has dramatically revived in this situation."

Finally, Yoo said, "A president who has problems but does not recognize the problems is running the country," and added, "The reason I participated in this debate is to share these issues with the public. I hope the lawmakers of the People Power Party deeply reflect on this situation."
