Sinan-gun, Jangsan-myeon Crop Group Donates 10.04 Million Won Scholarship Fund

Partial Donation of Profits from Birch Sapling Cultivation

Jangsan-myeon Crop Group (Leader Choi Seol-im) of the Jeonnam Shinan-gun Garden Tree Social Cooperative visited Shinan-gun Office on the 3rd and donated 10.04 million KRW to the Shinan-gun Scholarship Foundation, spreading warmth throughout the local community.

According to Shinan-gun on the 5th, the scholarship fund donated that day was partially raised from the profits earned through the cultivation of birch saplings by the Jangsan-myeon Crop Group.

Leader Choi Seol-im said, “Although this scholarship amount is not large, it is a precious result created by the collective contributions of the crop group members,” adding, “It is very meaningful to have prepared the scholarship fund through the warm interest and cooperation of the local community.”

Chairman Park Woo-ryang expressed gratitude, saying, “I thank Leader Choi Seol-im and the cooperative members who willingly entrusted the valuable profits as a scholarship fund for students,” and added, “We will ensure that the scholarship fund is properly delivered to where it is needed so that Shinan-gun students can use it valuably to nurture their dreams.”

Established in October last year, the Jangsan-myeon Crop Group of the Shinan-gun Garden Tree Social Cooperative consists of 27 cooperative members producing nursery plants such as pampas grass and birch as income-generating crops for residents.
