Efforts Bear Fruit Through Promotion of Customized Local Specialized Projects and Various Welfare Services
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) was selected as the best local government in the "Provision of Visiting Health and Welfare Services" category of the 2024 Regional Welfare Project Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the 5th, earning the honor of winning for six consecutive years since 2019.
The background of the city's recent achievement includes various efforts to provide differentiated welfare services through specialized projects such as ▲promoting a Guri village free of solitary deaths ▲establishing a care system utilizing smart technology ▲supporting various single-person household assistance projects.
In particular, the city focused on proactively identifying and supporting neighbors in crisis by establishing and utilizing a systematic human safety net, including the local Community Security Council and honorary social welfare officers, and has also worked to improve the quality of welfare services through connections with various welfare resources within the region.
