Assemblyman Kim Seonghoe "Concerns Over Overseas Escape"
Woo Jong-su, head of the National Police Agency's National Security Headquarters, stated on the 5th regarding the travel ban on Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun, "If necessary measures are required today, we will thoroughly review them."
On the same day, Director Woo responded to Rep. Kim Seong-hoe of the Democratic Party's remark at the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee plenary session that "there is a concern that Minister Kim might flee abroad."
Rep. Kim said, "The Martial Law Commander stated that he never ordered troop deployment to the National Assembly, and it is said that the Minister of National Defense gave the order," adding, "The President and the Minister of National Defense cannot order troops without the Martial Law Commander's knowledge."
Director Woo stated, "We cannot determine whether to punish based solely on the Martial Law Commander's response at the National Defense Committee," and added, "We need to collect concrete evidence and conduct an investigation."
