Growing Internal and External Uncertainties Pose Challenges
Efforts to Resolve Uncertainties in Budget and Tax Reform Proposals

Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Economy and Finance, stated on the 5th, "The economic team will approach their responsibilities with more focus and tension than ever before."


On the 5th, at the Economic Ministers' Meeting held at the Government Seoul Office, Deputy Prime Minister Choi said, "We plan to further strengthen communication with the field, companies, and the National Assembly."


Choi Sang-mok: "Economic Team Will Approach Work with Focus and Tension" Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Economy and Finance, is speaking at the Economic Ministers' Meeting held for the first time after the cabinet members expressed their intention to resign on the 5th at the Government Seoul Office in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

At the meeting, he mentioned, "There are numerous tasks to be resolved amid the increasing domestic and international uncertainties of our economy," and added, "The government will continue to do what needs to be done as usual."


He also explained, "Ongoing policy tasks will proceed without disruption, and the responsible officials will frequently visit the field to listen to the voices of the people and reflect them meticulously in livelihood policies."


Deputy Prime Minister Choi said, "The government will strive to resolve the uncertainties surrounding next year's budget bill and tax reform bill as quickly as possible," and emphasized, "Prompt handling is necessary to stabilize livelihoods and strengthen industrial competitiveness."


He also urged, "to proceed with the planned year-end events by the government, public institutions, and the private sector as they are, so that it can lead to domestic demand recovery."


On this day, ministers and vice ministers from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Office for Government Policy Coordination, Fair Trade Commission, Financial Services Commission, and Public Procurement Service also attended the Economic Ministers' Meeting.


The meeting discussed topics such as 'Strengthening tailored support measures for small business owners and self-employed,' 'Economic regulatory innovation plans to enhance corporate dynamism and promote new industries,' and '2024 public procurement killer regulation innovation achievements.'
