Presenting a New Blueprint for Sustainable Urban Landscapes
Public Viewing Notice for Residents Until the 30th
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 5th that it has completed the revision of the ‘2030 Uijeongbu City Landscape Plan’ and will conduct a public inspection for residents until the 30th.
The landscape plan is a statutory plan under the ‘Landscape Act’ that is revised every five years with the purpose of systematic management of landscapes and creating a dignified urban landscape.
The newly established 2030 Uijeongbu City Landscape Plan reflects the validity review of the previous landscape plan and changes in the urban landscape, setting the future landscape vision as ‘Uijeongbu in nature and city, feeling diversity.’
Specifically, it presents four landscape goals: ▲ Uijeongbu rich in all four seasons ▲ Uijeongbu where people and urban landscapes harmonize ▲ Uijeongbu with charm embracing history and culture ▲ Uijeongbu beautiful with light.
In addition, the names of each zone have been newly designated according to their characteristics as Urban Center Zone, Metropolitan Administrative Zone, Future Residential Zone, and Forest Green Zone, and landscape guidelines by elements have been prepared to enable efficient landscape management.
In particular, the color policy (guidelines) for each zone has been reorganized to suggest appropriate color ranges for uses such as residential and commercial buildings and public buildings, and example images have been added to help citizens understand and increase usability.
The 2030 Uijeongbu City Landscape Plan can be viewed in the landscape data room under the Housing, Architecture, and Redevelopment sections on the city’s official website.
An Jong-seong, Director of the Urban Design Division, said, “Through the revised ‘2030 Uijeongbu City Landscape Plan,’ we hope to create a pleasant urban environment where nature and the city harmonize,” and added, “We will continue to do our best for sustainable landscape management.”
