Uijeongbu-si Selected as an Excellent Administrative Agency for Public Officials' Labor-Management Culture... Awarded the Prime Minister's Commendation

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 5th that it was selected as an 'Excellent Administrative Institution for Public Officials' Labor-Management Culture in 2024' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and received the Prime Minister's Commendation together with the City Public Officials Labor Union (Chairman Kim Hyeong-tae) on the 4th.

This selection of excellent institutions was prepared to spread a healthy labor-management culture in the public sector by creating a win-win and cooperative atmosphere between labor and management and sharing best practices.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety received certification applications from various institutions starting in July, and selected excellent institutions through a first round of document screening, a second round of on-site inspections, and face-to-face evaluations.

Uijeongbu City was honored with the Prime Minister's Commendation on its first attempt, recognized for its outstanding achievements in labor-management cooperation projects promoted under the theme "When Labor and Management Unite, Uijeongbu Rises."

Uijeongbu City and the labor union made efforts to establish a desirable labor-management culture and a flexible workplace culture through labor-management cooperation projects such as ▲ monthly regular meetings between the mayor and the labor union chairman ▲ improvement of organizational culture and working methods ▲ creation of a comfortable workplace through environmental improvements ▲ operation of communication channels with MZ (Millennial and Gen Z) employees.

Chairman Kim Hyeong-tae said, "This award is the result achieved together by the city and the labor union," and added, "We will continue to work together to make Uijeongbu City more developed."

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "This award is the result of trust and cooperation built together by the public officials and the labor union of Uijeongbu City," and stated, "We will continue to strive to establish a sound and rational labor-management culture."
