In response to the continuously increasing number of single-person households, the district established a dedicated 145㎡ space for the "Single-Person Household Support Center" in July this year and has now launched the new household goods rental service as part of its new initiatives.

The service is available to single-person households residing, studying, or working within the district. Each individual can rent up to two items from the center’s available household goods for a maximum of 14 days (7 days initially, with a possible 7-day extension if there are no other reservations).

Currently available rental items include travel suitcases (20-inch, 30-inch), portable shopping bags (hand carts), steam irons, lint removers, electric drill sets and home tool sets, 9-piece screwdriver sets, camping mats, Bluetooth speakers, calf massagers, and more. The inventory is planned to expand to about 40 different items in the future.

Applicants can apply by visiting the center, calling, or making a reservation through the portal site (Naver). After using the rented items, they must be returned in their original condition. When renting, applicants must bring an ID card and a resident registration certificate proving their status as a single-person household.

Mayor Lee Seongheon stated, “We expect this rental service to help make life more convenient for single-person households who face limitations due to their living space or economic reasons. We will continue to actively support projects that meet the diverse needs of single-person households.”

The Seodaemun-gu Single-Person Household Support Center provides counseling to support interpersonal relationships and emotional well-being for single-person households and operates various programs aimed at self-care, strengthening life skills, and building social networks.
