Parking Discounts and Family Zones Established... Nationwide Airports to Become 'Mom'-Friendly Spaces

'Comfortable Airport' Project to Be Gradually Implemented Starting from Gimpo Airport

Korea Airports Corporation will provide dedicated parking spaces and convenience facilities at airports nationwide, starting with Gimpo Airport, to ensure that customers accompanied by pregnant women and infants can travel safely and comfortably.

Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 5th that it will gradually implement this "Mom-Friendly Airport" project starting with Gimpo Airport this year.

Through this, the corporation plans to create a customized airport environment throughout the entire journey from parking to boarding by offering exclusive services and facilities so that customers accompanied by pregnant women and infants can travel more comfortably and safely.

First, the eligibility for multi-child discounts in airport parking lots will be expanded from the youngest child being 15 years old to 18 years old, and fetuses will also be recognized as part of multi-child families, allowing a 50% discount on parking fees even if the second child is being pregnant. This expanded application will take effect from the 5th. Additionally, family-friendly parking zones with good terminal accessibility within airport parking lots will be gradually designated and operated at airports nationwide.

Convenience facilities, services, and cultural content within airports will also be expanded. Gimhae Airport will establish a children's playground incorporating educational content and a family zone where pregnant women and child customers can wait this month. Gimpo, Gimhae, and Jeju Airports, which have many passengers accompanied by infants, will enhance mobility convenience by providing a stroller one-stop service.

Furthermore, during the airport cultural event week called "Takeoff Week," various events that families can enjoy together will be held.
