Cheonan City Designates New Alley-Type Shopping Districts Including Cheongdang 1st Street

Cheonan City in Chungnam Province announced on the 5th that 'Cheongdang 1beonga' and 'Sicheongap' have been newly designated as Alley-Type Shopping Districts.

An Alley-Type Shopping District is a system that grants qualifications similar to traditional markets to areas of less than 2,000 square meters where at least 25 stores operated by small business owners are clustered in commercial zones, or at least 20 stores in non-commercial zones.

The Cheongdang 1beonga Alley-Type Shopping District consists of 109 stores near the Cheonan Tax Office, while the Sicheongap Alley-Type Shopping District comprises 147 stores across from City Hall.

Once designated as an Alley-Type Shopping District, stores can register as Onnuri Gift Certificate affiliates and apply for various national and provincial support projects. They can also benefit from support programs such as facility and management modernization, commercial infrastructure, merchant education, and collaborative projects with local residents.

By using the Onnuri Gift Certificate app and registering for card-linked use, customers can receive a 10% discount within a monthly limit of 2 million KRW.

Until the end of this month, customers can receive an additional 5% cashback when making payments with the Cheonan Love Card at stores in the Alley-Type Shopping Districts.

Park Sangdon, Mayor of Cheonan, said, "I am very pleased to designate the 5th and 6th Alley-Type Shopping Districts in Cheonan," adding, "I hope this will help boost consumption in the alley commercial districts of Cheongdang-dong and Buldang-dong."
