Boryeong City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 5th that it has begun operating the administrative system 'On-Book' as of the 1st.
On-Book allows public officials to handle administrative tasks in various work environments, such as at civil service sites, while working from home, or on business trips.
Until now, public officials have faced difficulties because they could not process administrative tasks during site visits or business trips.
The city has established a system that enables the use of the On-Book system with a secure business laptop, allowing access to both the administrative and internet networks in an environment identical to the office.
The city was selected as a ‘local government On-Book pilot operation’ institution by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and received infrastructure support from the On-Book public-private consultative body.
Unlike the conventional method of accessing the administrative network, On-Book allows safe access to the internet and administrative network via security authentication without the need to install separate software.
It can also be used at administrative agencies such as island health centers where residents live, helping to reduce communication costs.
The city plans to cooperate with the Public AI Policy Division of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to provide user training and pilot operations, and will offer optimized services through continuous on-site inspections and usage monitoring.
Mayor Kim Dongil said, “With the introduction of On-Book, smart administration that transcends the limitations of time and space will be realized,” adding, “We will do our best to provide citizens with faster and more efficient services.”
