The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has decided to actively respond to minimize confusion at schools regarding the general strike planned by the Education Public Officials Labor Union on the 6th.
After the strike was announced, the Office of Education stated on the 5th that it had established a strike response guideline (manual) by gathering opinions from relevant departments for each job category of education public officials to ensure an active and systematic response.
The guideline includes measures to minimize work gaps and disruptions in academic operations at schools, as well as compliance with labor relations laws to prevent unfair labor practices.
In particular, focused response plans have been prepared for areas with significant impact such as school meals, elementary after-school care, kindergarten after-school programs, and special education.

Specifically, for school meals, if the strike participation rate is below 50%, existing cooking staff will be utilized to modify or simplify the menu, and if it is 50% or higher, alternative meals such as bread or milk will be provided, with decisions made considering the school's circumstances.
Additionally, for after-school care, special education, and early childhood education, the Office plans to minimize the damage to students and parents caused by the strike by using internal staff or operating integrated services with non-striking personnel.
Kim Jaesu, head of the Labor-Management Cooperation Division at the Office of Education, said, "We will operate a strike response situation room and conduct real-time monitoring until the strike situation ends," adding, "We will focus our response particularly on school meals, after-school care, and special education, where inconvenience to students and parents is expected to increase."
