Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that on the 3rd, it held the ‘Resident Participation Day Autonomous District DAY’ event as part of the Rapid Integrated Planning Exhibition organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Rapid Integrated Planning is a support policy by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to revitalize redevelopment and reconstruction maintenance projects. The Rapid Integrated Planning Exhibition is being held at the Seoul Urban Architecture Exhibition Hall until December 22.

The event was attended by about 20 residents and related officials from the local areas selected as the 2nd candidate site for Rapid Integrated Planning in Siheung 1-dong 871, the occasional recruitment selected areas in Doksan 2-dong 1036 and 1072, and the Doksan 2-dong 380 area currently under public contest.

Attendees listened to explanations about the Rapid Integrated Planning policy, viewed exhibitions of the completed target sites, and watched videos. They also had a time to resolve questions related to maintenance projects through a talk concert between city-district officials and residents.

A participating resident said, “Through resident participation programs such as the exhibition viewing and talk concert, it was an opportunity to easily understand the maintenance plans that I had been curious about while promoting redevelopment. I hope more diverse opportunities for resident participation will be provided.”

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “To successfully promote Rapid Integrated Planning, we will continue to actively pursue housing maintenance projects to improve the aging residential environment. We will also actively support ensuring that the entire maintenance project process proceeds based on communication and trust with residents.”

Currently, there are four sites in Geumcheon-gu where Rapid Integrated Planning has been completed or is underway. The area around Siheung 4-dong 810 has been designated as a maintenance zone, and the area around Siheung 1-dong 871 is undergoing the drafting process for designation as a maintenance zone. The areas around Doksan 2-dong 1036 and 1072 have been selected as candidate sites in January this year, and through an integrated master plan, maintenance plans linking infrastructure such as roads are being established.
