Realmeter Opinion Poll
Regarding President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of martial law, 7 out of 10 citizens expressed the opinion that he should be impeached.
According to a poll released on the 5th by the polling firm Realmeter (commissioned by Energy Economy Newspaper, conducted on the 4th with 504 men and women aged 18 and over nationwide, 97% wireless, 3% wired, RDD ARS automated response. The margin of error is ±4.4 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. The response rate was 4.8%), 73.6% supported the impeachment of President Yoon. Those opposed to impeachment accounted for 24.0%.
Realmeter stated that support for impeachment was high nationwide, including in Daegu and Gyeongbuk (support 66.2%). Support was also high across all age groups, including those aged 70 and over (support 56.8%). However, among conservatives, opinions on impeachment were evenly split. Among conservatives, 50.4% supported impeachment, while 48.0% opposed it.
Regarding whether President Yoon's declaration of martial law constitutes the crime of "rebellion," 69.5% responded that it does, while 24.9% said it does not.
