Lee Jun-seok: "Han Dong-hoon, who sought a 30-year sentence for Park Geun-hye, how can he request a sentence for rebellion?"

Criticism of President Yoon Seok-yeol Who Once Sought Death Penalty for Former Chun Doo-hwan

Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, pointed out on the 5th that the current situation cannot be resolved with an 'apology,' referring to the past actions of President Yoon Seok-yeol and People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon. He questioned whether this amounts to denying the lives they have lived.

Through social media (SNS), Lee said, "Although the accounts of what Yoon Seok-yeol and Han Dong-hoon discussed vary depending on the source, when combined, it generally seems to be heading toward preventing impeachment and settling the matter with an apology." He added, "If the atmosphere is set to have a 'public apology' from those who committed treason by mobilizing the military and police, wouldn't that be an act of denying your careers, during which you sent countless people to prison for 'abuse of power'?"

He said, "(In the past) Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon directly read a sentencing request for 30 years in prison for abuse of power and other charges against President Park Geun-hye at the final trial, didn't he?" He continued, "Then, if a prosecutor by profession were to request a sentence for those who instigated a rebellion by deploying soldiers and police to suspend the constitutional order, how would they request the sentence?"

Lee also criticized, "Yoon Seok-yeol, who reportedly demanded the death penalty for former President Chun Doo-hwan in a mock trial during his school days, how has your view changed from the law student belief that treason deserves the death penalty?"
