8 Types of Gapyeong Specialties and 17 Types of Ceramics to Be Sold Locally Until the 10th

Gyeonggi-do Corporation and the Korea Ceramic Foundation have joined forces to promote the excellence of Gyeonggi-do's outstanding ceramic products and to pioneer overseas market channels by targeting the U.S. market.

Gyeonggi-do Corporation will sell 17 types of ceramic products from Gyeonggi-do, including coffee cups, bowls, and spice containers, at H&Y MARKET PLACE located in New York and New Jersey until the 10th. Along with these, eight types of food products, including Gapyeong pine nut taffy, a specialty of Gapyeong, will also be sold.

This U.S. market initiative is part of the '2024 Marketing Activation Support Project' commissioned to Gyeonggi-do Corporation, aimed at developing overseas sales channels. The export of ceramics was promoted following the 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Activating Distribution Channels of Small-scale Ceramic Workshops in Gyeonggi-do' signed in August between Gyeonggi-do Corporation and the Korea Ceramic Foundation.

Lee Jae-jun, CEO of Gyeonggi-do Corporation, stated, “We are pleased that Gyeonggi-do Corporation, the Korea Ceramic Foundation, and small and medium-sized enterprises in Gyeonggi-do have joined forces to target the U.S. market,” adding, “Gyeonggi-do Corporation will do its best to promote Gyeonggi-do to more global markets.”

Meanwhile, the local retailer H&Y MARKET PLACE is known as a famous Korean market on the U.S. East Coast with about 48 years of history.
