New Saechungmu, Dongjinchal, Baekokchal, and Sindongjin Varieties
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it will accept applications for the ‘2025 Government-Distributed Rice Seeds’ until the 12th.
The government-distributed seeds produced and supplied by the government are seeds that have passed strict inspection standards, preserving the unique characteristics of the varieties and maintaining high purity, which can be expected to produce high-quality rice.
According to the supply plan of the National Seed Management Office for government-distributed rice seeds, the county will supply a total of 98 tons of four varieties: Saechungmu, Dongjinchal, Baekokchal, and Sindongjin.
Applications can be made by visiting the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center by the 12th and applying for the desired variety and quantity. The seed requirement is 50 kg per hectare (ha).
The applied seeds will be supplied to farms through designated local agricultural cooperatives by March 31 of next year, and payment should be made to the local agricultural cooperative upon receipt of the seeds. Prices will be announced in January next year.
A project to reduce the burden on farms purchasing distributed seeds will also be operated. The county plans to promote the ‘Distributed Seed Price Difference Support Project,’ which subsidizes part of the difference between the government-distributed seed supply price and the purchase price.
Park Eonjeong, director of the Jangseong-gun Agricultural Technology Center, said, “Since all varieties are supplied in an untreated state, thorough seed disinfection is necessary after receipt.”
