Learn Survival Strategies for the 4th Industrial Revolution Era from 'Engineer Reading Civilization' Professor Choi Jae-bung of Sungkyunkwan University

Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will hold a special lecture for parents titled "AI Era, Changing Our Children's Future" at 10 a.m. on the 20th in the main auditorium of the district office.

This special lecture is the last in the series of parent lectures organized by the district this year. In response to the rapidly changing educational environment, the district has been providing opportunities for parents to gain educational information in various fields such as career, character, and learning from experts.

This time, the topic is artificial intelligence (AI), a core technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution era. In particular, it will teach how to raise children as versatile "new humans" who can freely utilize advanced technology, freeing parents from worries about smartphone addiction.

Professor Choi Jae-bung of Sungkyunkwan University, known as the "Engineer who Reads Civilization," will take the stage. He is the author of books such as "Choi Jae-bung's Metaverse Story" and "Phono Sapiens," and has appeared on popular TV programs like "Different Class" and "15 Minutes That Change the World," making him a familiar intellectual to the public.

After the lecture, there will be a Q&A session where attendees can interact with the speaker to resolve concerns and questions about future education.

The education is free for any parents with minor children from infants to high school students. Those who wish to attend can register online in advance from 10 a.m. on December 4th through the Songpa-run Education Portal website, with a first-come, first-served limit of 300 participants.

Since April, the district has invited lecturers from various educational fields to provide practical lectures on English and Korean study methods, reading guidance, education trends, and more. Encouraged by this year's enthusiastic response, the district plans to continue regular parent education next year as well.

Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, said, "Interest in future-oriented talents who will lead innovation ahead amid the global whirlwind of change is increasing," adding, "We will continue to provide high-quality educational information to ease parents' concerns so that children can take the initiative and develop the necessary competencies."
