Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do)'s Sports Rehabilitation Center conducted a step-by-step field experience program at the Daegu Sports Science Center on the 21st of last month for first-year students in the Department of Physical Therapy.
This program was designed to enhance practical understanding in the fields of sports rehabilitation and exercise science and to provide students with hands-on experience that can be applied in real-world settings.
Students directly experienced the latest sports science technologies and rehabilitation treatment methods through various practical exercises such as exercise stress tests, electromyography tests, and physical function tests at the Daegu Sports Science Center. They had the opportunity to learn an integrated approach to sports science and rehabilitation not only through theory but also through field practice.
Song Min-young, director of the Sports Rehabilitation Center at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, stated, “This was an important time for students to broaden their understanding of the sports rehabilitation field and build the competencies necessary to perform actual job duties through various physical examinations and experiences provided by the Sports Science Center. We plan to strengthen students’ job skills through practical, field-centered experience programs.”
Student Lee Yong-jun, who participated in the field experience, said, “By actually experiencing exercise stress and electromyography tests, I was able to realize the importance of the sports rehabilitation field. Such experiences will be a great help in preparing for future job duties.”
The Sports Rehabilitation Center, a school enterprise, has been selected for the ‘3-Stage School Enterprise Support Project’ funded for five years since 2020. It operates various programs annually based on student practice and local community needs, aiming to cultivate sports rehabilitation experts for the development of the regional sports industry.
