First, to reduce alcohol harm, three new ‘No Alcohol Zones in Children’s Parks’ were designated. On-site inspections were also strengthened for 3,500 liquor sales establishments in the area to take the lead in blocking youth drinking initiation.

Along with this, 12 alcohol harm prevention campaigns were conducted to raise awareness. Additionally, tailored education by life cycle was provided to 9,487 children, adolescents, and high school seniors preparing for exams to promote a proper drinking culture.

Moreover, in cooperation with partner organizations such as the Korea Health Promotion Institute and the Mental Health Welfare Center, high-risk drinkers were intensively managed, contributing to the reduction of alcohol demand.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We are implementing practical policies to reduce high-risk drinking, which can potentially lead to safety accidents,” and added, “We will do our best to strengthen the substance of the alcohol harm prevention project and foster a healthy drinking culture.”
