To realize ESG management in collaboration with the local community, the Oil Corporation is expanding customized social contribution activities, and this event was organized to revitalize the Ulsan local economy and promote a culture of sharing. The event was attended by Kim Young-gil, head of Ulsan Jung-gu Office; Park Gong-woo, Standing Auditor of the Oil Corporation; Choi Moon-gyu, Head of Planning and Finance Headquarters; employees; as well as about 30 members from the Taehwa Market Merchants' Association and Ulsan Community Chest of Korea.
Employees of the Oil Corporation purchased kimchi, side dishes, and mixed grains at Taehwa Market, then personally packed the side dish packages together with the Taehwa General Market Merchants' Association and delivered them to 200 vulnerable households in the district through the Ulsan Jung-gu Office.
After the event, the Oil Corporation and the merchants' association held an open meeting to discuss ways to revitalize traditional markets and the local economy in Jung-gu, Ulsan. At this meeting, the Oil Corporation stated that it would expand customized social contribution activities and actively contribute to revitalizing traditional markets by understanding the needs of merchants.
A participating employee of the Oil Corporation said, "I am glad that this sharing will help vulnerable groups in Jung-gu, Ulsan, and revitalize traditional markets," adding, "I will continue to actively participate in the Oil Corporation’s neighborly love practices and local economic revitalization events."
Earlier, in May, the Oil Corporation also delivered 200 agricultural product packages to vulnerable groups in the region. Additionally, among public institutions located in the Ulsan Innovation City, the Oil Corporation was the first to hold a flea market for small business owners called ‘Donghaeng’ and hosted a traditional market shopping event using reusable shopping bags, thereby practicing ESG management in harmony with the local community.
