Startup Sustainable Lab announced on the 4th that it showcased innovative technology for upcycling agricultural and food by-products in Silicon Valley.
From the 19th to the 21st of last month (local time), Plug and Play, a global accelerator based in Silicon Valley, held an investment attraction event for Korean green sector companies at its headquarters in Silicon Valley, USA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute.
At this event, Sustainable Lab participated as one of the 10 K-Green Technology companies selected by the Ministry of Environment, seeking collaboration opportunities with local investors through sustainable material technology. The event was attended by innovation leaders from global companies such as L'Or?al, NVIDIA, Juniper Networks, including the founder and CEO of Side Amidi.
Sustainable Lab introduced its RE:Tree technology. This technology is an innovative method that recycles agricultural and food by-products to reduce carbon emissions and develop eco-friendly materials with 0% microplastics. This material can be applied to various plastic-alternative consumer goods such as food and beverage containers, beauty containers, and bathroom products, providing a practical solution to reduce plastic usage. Through this, it also contributes to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation.
The RE:Tree technology is implemented as plastic-free consumer products through Sustainable Lab’s brand Eden, offering practical alternatives to solve environmental issues in daily life. Eden’s technology has attracted attention by discussing the potential use of sustainable materials with global companies such as NASA, European hotel and airline group Tui, and biofood company Cargill.
Sustainable Lab plans to expand cooperation in the North American market through this Silicon Valley investment briefing and establish itself as a climate tech company leading the global circular economy.
Seonmi Seo, CEO of Sustainable Lab, said, “Sustainability for the Earth’s environment is not a choice but a necessity. Through upcycling technology for agricultural and food by-products, we contribute to reducing plastic and planting trees on Earth, ultimately helping to solve climate issues and create a sustainable future.”
