Mokpo City, Mokpo Sports Complex Safety Evaluation Results... Grade B

All Facilities in Good Condition... No Issues with Use

On the 4th, Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do announced the action plan following the results of a recent detailed safety inspection of the Mokpo Sports Complex.

Since the construction of the Mokpo Sports Complex, which was built for last year's National Sports Festival, the contractor Namyang Construction has been carrying out defect repairs. However, the city explained that defect repairs have been delayed due to the contractor's court receivership and other issues.

To conduct a more detailed defect investigation, the city carried out a detailed safety inspection of the Mokpo Sports Complex in the second half of July. As a result, some components on the first floor (wall cracks) received a grade of C, while the second and third floors received a grade of B, resulting in an overall facility grade of 'B (Good)'.

The city stated that although minor defects occurred in some auxiliary components (walls), they do not significantly affect functionality, and there is no problem using the Mokpo Sports Complex.

A city official said, “Based on the detailed safety inspection results, we plan to promptly proceed with repairs and reinforcements of the identified defects by claiming the repair costs to the warranty issuer using the defect repair guarantee submitted by Samho Co., Ltd., one of the joint contractors.”
