Namyangju City and Gyeonggi Teachers' Association Sign Agreement to Promote Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Brand Education
Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) held the ‘Dasan Jeong Yak-yong Brand Education Business Agreement Ceremony’ with the Gyeonggi-do Teachers' Association Federation (hereinafter Gyeonggi Teachers' Association) at Yeoyudang on the 4th.

The ceremony was attended by key officials including Joo Gwang-deok, Mayor of Namyangju, and Lee Sang-ho, President of the Gyeonggi Teachers' Association.
This agreement was promoted to inherit the spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, foster local pride, and strengthen cooperation in the field of education.
Namyangju City plans to utilize the expertise of education professionals to promote the region’s identity and excellence of tradition both domestically and internationally, develop various educational programs for elementary and middle school students, teachers, and parents, and establish a foundation to provide education content linked with the local community.
The main contents of this agreement include △ development of customized Jeong Yak-yong education programs for students △ experiential learning utilizing Jeong Yak-yong historic sites △ strengthening teachers’ educational capabilities and operating healing programs for members of the Teachers' Association and their families △ promotion and expansion of the Jeong Yak-yong brand education.
President Lee Sang-ho said, “The spirit of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong is a precious heritage that will provide valuable inspiration for our education and life today and in the future,” adding, “We will do our best to cooperate with the city to provide students with pride and love for their hometown, teachers with educational inspiration, and parents with opportunities to rediscover the value of the local community, as well as to promote the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand.”
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok stated, “This agreement is a valuable occasion for Namyangju City and the Gyeonggi Teachers' Association to gather wisdom and strength to modernly inherit the great ideas and spirit of Jeong Yak-yong and to develop our education and local community,” and added, “We will make the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand the central axis of education and culture, provide unwavering support so that the educational community can be happy, and Namyangju can develop into a city that awakens the imagination of Dasan.”
Through this agreement, Namyangju City plans to establish a regional identity where education and culture are harmonized based on the life and philosophy of Jeong Yak-yong, and to expand the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand throughout Gyeonggi Province together with the Gyeonggi Teachers' Association.
Furthermore, the city intends to increase the participation of teachers and parents in education and spare no effort to support students in taking pride in local culture and history.
