At the Cho family ancestral home, the Cho's old house, located in Hwajeong-myeon, Uiryeong-gun, Gyeongnam, a thatching work using new rice straw is being carried out on the thatched roof on the 3rd.

Here, every year before the full onset of winter, the separate building, storage building, and stable thatched roofs are re-thatched to continue the tradition. It is important to thatch the straw evenly and densely so that the quilted roof covering flows well.
