Jeju Island Landing Casino Opened to the Public
Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) announced on the 5th that it has successfully commercialized its self-developed table game, BROG.
BROG is an intuitive game that determines the winner by comparing the card patterns of the betting side and the non-betting side, unlike traditional card games that decide the outcome based on the sum of card numbers. As the rounds progress, the payout rates increase to 1x, 2x, 5x, and 10x, and the game can continue up to the final 4th round.
BROG completed mathematical evaluation certification (return rate, payout rate) from the international gaming certification body BMM in 2022 and has been registered for a domestic patent. Currently, procedures for acquiring overseas patents and intellectual property rights are underway.
Earlier, Grand Korea Leisure signed a business agreement last month with Landing Casino operator Landing Entertainment Korea at Jeju Island Landing Casino to promote foreign tourism by upgrading casino tourism products, introducing the BROG game, and making it available to the public. This is the first time a table game developed in Korea has been introduced in a casino.
The agreement was established as a follow-up measure after Jeju Special Self-Governing Province added the category of “other card games” to casino business types in 2020 to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic casino industry by securing diversity in table games. Grand Korea Leisure provides the usage rights for the BROG game free of charge. The agreement period is until December 31, 2027.
Grand Korea Leisure stated, "We expect BROG to satisfy foreign preferences and establish itself as new tourism content," adding, "Going forward, Grand Korea Leisure will faithfully fulfill its mission as a tourism public enterprise to develop the tourism industry and do its best to realize social value."
