Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will recruit participants for the 2025 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project until December 11.

The district has prepared the senior job project to support the economic stability and social participation of seniors aged 60 and over who have a desire for social participation in response to the super-aged society.

The recruitment fields include four areas: Senior Public Activity Project, Senior Capacity Activity Project, Community Project Group, and Employment Support, recruiting a total of 3,850 people across 45 projects. Applicants must be seniors aged 60 or older residing in Geumcheon-gu according to their resident registration, with detailed conditions varying by project.

The Senior Public Activity Project involves volunteer activities for the local community, including various activities such as welfare facility guardianship, elementary school meal assistance, and traffic support. The Senior Capacity Activity Project contributes to areas requiring social assistance, such as welfare facility care or administrative support.

The Community Project Group is a profit-generating project such as lunchbox production and sales, and craft making, while Employment Support consists of programs that connect participants’ careers and abilities with private employment opportunities.

Residents wishing to participate should bring identification, application forms, and related documents to visit one of the six senior job implementing institutions, including the Geumcheon Senior Welfare Center and Geumcheon Senior Club, to apply. Eligibility, activity conditions, application locations, and application forms can be found on the Geumcheon-gu Office website under ‘Job Announcements.’

Each senior job implementing institution will select participants based on the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s selection criteria in order of highest scores, and the results will be individually notified to the participants.

The final successful candidates will work from January 2025 at various workplaces such as welfare centers, schools, local children’s centers, senior citizen centers, parks, cafes, convenience stores, and laundromats.

The district will support participants with accident insurance, liability insurance, and conduct mandatory pre-safety education and job-related training to ensure the safety of seniors’ activities.

Additionally, through cultural education and outdoor experiential activities, the district plans to help seniors feel emotional satisfaction and lead a healthy old age.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “This project was prepared to provide quality jobs reflecting the diverse needs of seniors to help economic stability and social participation. We will continue to strengthen age-friendly policies so that seniors can enjoy a richer and healthier old age in Geumcheon-gu.”
