Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, claimed that President Yoon Seok-yeol should be arrested for a coup rather than being subject to impeachment.
On the 4th, Governor Kim posted on his social media (SNS), "President Yoon Seok-yeol's '2-hour coup' has driven the country to the edge," lamenting, "The value of the Korean won has plummeted, and the night stock, futures, and coin markets have crashed. The decline in international credit ratings is also obvious."
He especially stated, "In just a few hours, our economy has been greatly shaken," and mourned, "An economy fallen into the abyss. A society thrown into chaos. Democracy collapsed. Who should take responsibility?"
He then emphasized, "Now, President Yoon Seok-yeol is not a 'subject of impeachment' but a 'subject of arrest.'"
