UN "Concerned about South Korea's Emergency Martial Law Declaration, Monitoring the Situation"

The United Nations Secretariat stated on the 3rd (local time) that "we are watching the situation very closely and with concern" following President Yoon Suk-yeol's declaration of martial law.


UN "Concerned about South Korea's Emergency Martial Law Declaration, Monitoring the Situation" The US daily newspaper The New York Times (NYT) is urgently reporting on June 3 (local time) the news of President Yoon Seok-yeol's declaration of martial law.

Stephan Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, said at a regular briefing held at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA, in response to reporters' questions about South Korea's declaration of martial law, "The situation is changing rapidly."


He added, "At this point, this is all we can say," and explained, "We will share additional information as it becomes available."
