Ministry of National Defense Orders Strengthening of Emergency Surveillance and Readiness Across All Military Forces

The Ministry of National Defense announced on the afternoon of the 3rd that it held a meeting of key commanders across the entire military and issued orders to strengthen emergency vigilance and readiness throughout the armed forces.

On the same day, President Yoon Seok-yeol declared martial law. In an emergency statement from the Yongsan Presidential Office, President Yoon stated, "I declare martial law to eradicate pro-North Korean forces and to protect the free constitutional order."
