On the 3rd, Pyeongtaek City signed a 'Solar Power Generation Facility Business Agreement at the Agricultural Ecological Garden' with the Gyeonggi Environment and Energy Promotion Agency and Korea Midland Power at the City Hall External Cooperation Office. This agreement includes ▲ the construction of solar power generation facilities within the Agricultural Technology Center and Agricultural Ecological Garden site ▲ supply plans of renewable energy to RE100 companies in the area ▲ mutual cooperation to achieve Pyeongtaek City's carbon neutrality goals.
The city especially plans to create excellent garden works that realize carbon neutrality at the 13th Gyeonggi Garden Culture Expo held at the Pyeongtaek Agricultural Ecological Garden in October next year through this agreement. To this end, the Agricultural Ecological Garden will provide the site and install and operate solar power generation facilities through private and public investment. The produced renewable energy will be supplied to local RE100 companies through a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) method.
Jung Jang-seon, Mayor of Pyeongtaek City, said, "We will spare no administrative support to ensure the successful promotion of the solar power generation facility construction project at the Agricultural Ecological Garden," and added, "We will do our best to achieve the carbon neutrality goal through continuous cooperation in the future."
